GSDCC Awards, Titles and Trophies
The GSDCC Inc. recognizes and rewards Members and dogs whose performance, activities and behaviour support and further the mission, goals, values and initiatives of the GSDCC Inc.
Awards
All dogs must be permanently identified in order to be eligible and application must be received no later than January 31 of the year following the year for which the award is claimed.
Awards Application
GSDCC CERTIFICATES awarded annually to each member who is the breeder of a German Shepherd Dog which obtained any Title offered by the CKC during the calendar year. Breeder must forward an application to the awards chairperson (see officers and contacts for more information).
GSDCC CERTIFICATES (ROMC) awarded annually to each GSDCC Inc. member whose dog attains ROMC status.
GSDCC MEDAL awarded annually to each member owning a German Shepherd Dog which obtained its Championship title during the calendar year. Owner must forward an application to the awards chairperson. (Please go to the Officers and Contacts page for the current awards chairperson)
Titles

Versatility Application
OBEDIENCE VICTOR/VICTRIX must have won a blue ribbon(first place in conformation show) OR examined by 2 conformation judges to have no disqualifying faults. Spay and neuter dogs allowed.
SELECT EXCELLENT given at the National Specialty Show. Proof of OFA Hip and Elbow certification. Must be applied for prior to the National Specialty Show.
SELECT awarded at the National Specialty Show will be limited to 10 dogs including the Grand Victor and Grand Victrix.
VERSATILITY TITLE German Shepherds are tremendously versatile dogs that can excel at many different kinds of activity. To encourage and celebrate members who train and compete with their German Shepherds in multiple sports, GSDCC offers Versatility Awards recognizing these team’s accomplishments. The Versatility Awards are a multi-tiered program that advances with the achievements earned by the dog. In order to qualify for a versatility award, a copy of the Certificates of the completion which verify all tittles must be supplied with this application. Owner must be a GSDCC Inc. member the past 3 years including the year the Versatility Title is obtained. The GSD MUST reside in Canada (CKC Titles Only) and must still be alive as of Effective date of this award. The GSDCC Inc. will maintain a list of all Versatility Titles. Only Canadian titles and wins qualify.
Bronze Versatility Award of Merit (VB) ~ Certificate To obtain a VB, you must accumulate 6 points from 3 categories.
Silver Versatility Award of Merit (VS) ~ Certificate To obtain a VS you must accumulate 9 points from at least 4 different categories.
Gold Versatility Award of Merit (VG) ~ Certificate To obtain a VG, you must accumulate 12 points from at least 5 different categories.

TEC (Temperment Evaluation Certified) The objective of the Temperament Test is to judge the dogs natural response to different situations while evaluating stability, shyness, aggressiveness, and friendliness a well as a dogs instinct to protect its owner or itself in the face of a threat.
Trophies

Perpetual Trophies
Mitzi Frohle Award -Champion in Breed and Obedience
The dog or bitch must be a Champion of Record, and have the Highest Average Score. If two or more dogs tie for the award then the Highest Average Score for the calendar year will count. Highest Obedience score could be taken from C.D., C.D.X., or U.D. titles.

Any German Shepherd Recieveing all of Its Titles (Champion, UDT)
An engraved scroll with the G.S.D.C.C. Inc. medal mounted on it will be presented to ANY German Shepherd Dog in Canada which received all its titles – that is, Champion U.D.T. Owner must furnish proof with necessary information to the Awards Chairperson.
MEMBERSHIP IN THE GSDCC Inc. IS NOT NECESSARY TO APPLY FOR THIS AWARD
The Bengamin Schultz Trophy
To be awarded to the member whose owner-trained German Shepherd Dog obtains the highest Average score towards its C.D. title. At least two of the qualifying scores must be obtained while the owner is a member of the G.S.D.C.C. Inc. and all scores must have been attained on one calendar year.
MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE GSDCC Inc.
The Aaroncroft Challenge Trophy for Highest Scoring Dog in Novice “B”
To be awarded to the member whose German Shepherd Dog obtains the Highest Average Score towards its C.D. Title. The dog must be owned by a member of the G.S.D.C.C. Inc. and trained and handled by someone other than the owner. The trainer and/or handler’s name must accompany the application for this trophy. All scores must be obtained in the preceding year; trainers and/or handlers need not be members and is engraved as follows:

Presented annually by the G.S.D.C.C. Inc.
Gerrard Businessmen’s Association Trophy
In establishing the winner, scores and titles may be retroactive for one year. That is, both titles need not be attained during the current calendar year, but may be obtained over a two year period.
Donated by the Gerrard Businessmen`s Association to the dog with Highest Combined Score in C.D. & C.D. X.
The Star-Trek Challenge Trophy
To be awarded to the members German Shepherd Dog which obtains the Highest Average score in Utility. At least two of the qualifying scores must be obtained while the owner is a member of the G.S.D.C.C. Inc.

The Thor Memorial Trophy
To be awarded to the member whose German Shepherd Dog obtains the Highest score in Schutzhund A, I, II, or III. The score must be obtained at a Schutzhund Trial held under VDH rules.

PETER CRAWFORD MEMORIAL TROPHY
The Peter Crawford Memorial Trophy will be given out each year at our National Specialty. The criteria for this award which the Board of the G.S.D.C.C. Inc. chooses the recipient is: A Canadian G.S.D.C.C. Inc. member in good standing that has set an example of the versatility of our breed and good sportsmanship.
The original cost of the Perpetual Trophy was paid for from the memorial donations that were sent in care of Bob Stevenson for the Peter Crawford Memorial. Bob Stevenson consulted with Carolyn Crawford re this Memorial Trophy. The Board will pay for a keeper trophy each year, and the cost, if any, of having the persons name on the perpetual.
